Shipping Humanitarian Goods to Timor Leste

Donations in Kind, West Footscray regularly schedules a sea container to Timor Leste. This permits Rotary clubs, church and community groups, local charities and family members to ship smaller quantities of goods for humanitarian purposes.

If your organisation or family group wishes to ship goods, please complete the Shipping Form and send to DIK.

Goods can be lodged at DIK warehouse on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8.00am-2.30pm.

There is a charge of $400 per cubic metre to cover the shipping and transportation costs.

Import (Customs) Duty

Please note: The Timor Leste government has recently applied a policy to levy import duty on some electronic items including television receivers and music boxes. It will be the responsibility of the consignee (in Timor Leste) to pay this levy prior to the goods being released.

Packing Restrictions

Please adhere to the following packing restrictions:

  • All items should be pre-labeled with Sender’s Name and Phone Number and Receiver’s Name and Phone Number
  • Boxes are to be securely packed, sealed and labeled. They should not excede 10 kilogrammes per item
  • Goods will NOT be accepted in calico, paper or packing bags
  • TVs must be packed and sealed in boxes. DIK cannot accept them in bubble wrap
  • Currently, until clarification is received from shipping lines, DIK cannot accept goods that containn batteries, eg. Computers, Ebikes or Escooters.
